Travelling

Travelling is the natural tendency of human being.  As man is a biped animal so he is mobile & is found of traveling. Man began to travel from one village to another village, one city to another city, one country to another country, & one continent to

another continent since the dawn of civilization.

The purpose of travelling:

The first purpose of travelling acquires knowledge. Beside man is inquisitive by nature. He loves to seek new.  So he wants to go out and see great cities, mountains, big lakes, rivers, seas etc. he wants to visit world historical place. He also wants to know different nation their manners, customs, and religion. He wants to do business with people of other countries. Sometime, he wants relief from dullness of life. So he goes on travel. Hence, we see some for knowledge and some others for business.

Past days:

In olden days, there were no trains and steamers and other speedy vehicles for travel. So the travellers had to go on foot. It was not safe for them to make a long journey. There were also robbers and pirates in every country. Besides, sometimes they had to face the natural calamities. So they had to overcome all these troubles and dangers.

At this time:

Vehicles are the gifts and modern inventions of science. Inventions of trains, steamers, motor cars and airplanes have made travelling much easier. Now their journey is safe and rapid. So man can easily travel a long distance by these speedy vehicles. They can travel one country to another country by the help of science. And we seem the world is village for travel.

Famous traveller:

The holy prophet (sm.) travelled from country to country for preaching Islam. And he used said that go to the China for acquire knowledge.  Ibn-e-Batuta travelled all over the world. He travels through the world about thirty years in his life. Marco Polo travelled from Venice to China with his father and uncle in the age of 12. Historians in the past travelled also for collecting historical data.

Usefulness of travel:

Travelling is useful. There are many benefit of journey. It helps us gain knowledge & gather experience. Travelling gives us first-hand experience and the book second hand. We can learn geographical, religious, social, cultural, economic, political condition etc. of other countries from travelling. It also gives us believe about the creator of Allah.

The benefits of travelling are many. So we should try to go on travels to the best of our abilities. Travelling opens our eyes and widens our mental horizon. The students of the educational institutions & other people of our country should be given facilities to under-take tours to various places of importance at home and abroad. So Allah says in the Quran “travel all over the world”.
